THIS PRODUCT IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE The CHECK-IT Model 0616 Steam Trap Tester allows you to accurately and quickly measure pipe temperatures at the upstream and downstream sides of a steam trap. Armed with such accurate readings, you can instantly determine whether or not a steam trap is malfunctioning.
With a temperature range of -100°F to 1999°F, this pocket size tester comes in a self-containing high impact case holding a quick response CHECK-IT 04260276 surface probe and a 9 volt battery.
The CHECK-IT 0616 Digital Steam Trap Tester is easy to read since it incorporates a large .5" liquid crystal display which is updated 1.5 times per second.
Remember . . . when a steam trap malfunctions, overall system efficiency decreases and escaping steam produces energy loss.
Includes the 04260276 Surface Probe.

READINGS CHART
The table shows that for an upstream pressure of 150 psig, a pyrometer reading between 329°F and 348°F should be obtained. And for a down stream steam pressure of 15 psig, a pyrometer reading of between 225°F and 238°F is desirable. We can conclude, therefore, that the trap is functioning properly.
PIPE SURFACE TEMPERATURE vs. STEAM PRESSURE
Steam Pressure (PSIG) | Steam Temp. (°F) | Pipe Surface Temp. (°F) |
15 | 250 | 225-238 |
50 | 298 | 268-283 |
100 | 338 | 304-321 |
150 | 366 | 329-348 |
200 | 388 | 349-369 |
450 | 460 | 414-437 |
